OVIDIU ANTON
România

That is the winner spirit: after he got his first guitar at the age of 5, Ovidiu Anton won the first children’s music festival at the age of 6.

Ovidiu Anton is 35 and he is a rock musician composer and soloist. He got his first guitar at the age of 5, and won the first children’s music festival at the age of 6. He studied piano, classical guitar and modern canto, and in 1998 he founded the band Carpe Diem, with whom he held concerts in the country and abroad.

After participating at the Mamaia 2003 festival, where he won the second place with his own composition entitled “I Want”, Ovidiu Anton came to the attention of the general public as the winner of the second edition of the famous TV show Școala Vedetelor and representing Romania at Golden Stag – 2005 edition.

Then followed a very active period on the stage of cover music, both in the private environment and in the clubs. Ovidiu had hundreds of concerts with the Pasager band , with which he also particpates in the final of the National Selection for Eurovision,  in 2010.

From 2012, the artist continued to compete at the Eurovision National Selection, and in 2016, Ovidiu Anton’s experience and dedication paid off when he won both the jury’s vote in the semifinals as well as the vote of the public in the final of the National Selection, interpreting his own composition, ”Moment of Silence”. Unfortunately, due to the Romanian Television’s debts to the EBU, Romania was disqualified and Ovidiu Anton did not have the chance to represent his country in the international contest.

In 2017, his new band, which includes well-known instrumentalists – Cristi Gram, Fernando Draganici, Dani Vlad and Liviu Sorescu -, released the song ”Suntem Brazi”, and this autumn is expected to release the first ANTON album.
